And How to Facilitate Your Healing Process

To facilitate your own healing process and make acupuncture more effective, these are a few important factors to consider:

It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, healthy or ill, all human beings need to be properly nourished and hydrated, our bodies need motion and exercise and we need to maintain clean eliminatory systems in order to thrive. Most everyone understands the importance of eating somewhat healthy, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep and exercising, but regular cleansing isn’t something many people are aware of nor do they understand how important and necessary it is to overall health. Most people don’t even think it about, or think it’s only necessary if you are seriously sick. That couldn’t be further from the truth. As you may know, Alternative Medicine philosophy is all about prevention. It’s much easier to maintain health and prevent disease than it is to try and cure yourself once a disease has taken hold. Disease only happens in a body that isn’t fully healthy. Inflammation is at the root of many diseases and is caused more often than not by improper consumption. Stress and lack of restful sleep also cause inflammation. We’ve already talked in depth about diet and how to eat properly so in this section we will talk about the other factors, such as cleansing, hydrating, exercise and sleep, that need to be taken into consideration if we wish to create powerful health. Another major contributor to health problems or diseases are nutritional deficiencies. Did you know one of the number one causes of nutritional deficiencies is prescription medications?  According to Ross Pelton, R.Ph., Ph.D., CCN, many common drugs, both prescription and over the counter, can cause nutritional deficiencies that can add to already existing health problems. Instead of healing your problem, the drug only causes more problems. In his book, The Nutritional Cost of Prescription Drugs, he points out that over 1,000 of the most commonly prescribed prescription and over the counter medication, deplete one or more nutrients in humans.

Studies reporting this information have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals for decades, but since the medical profession believes that, except for gross excess or deficiency, nutrition is of little importance to overall health, the information has been largely ignored. The annual survey of the top 200 drugs in the United States revealed that 15 out of the top 20 prescription drugs in the United States in 1999 are drugs that cause nutrient depletion. We all need to realize that no matter where we live or no matter how healthy we think we are, we are ALL exposed to countless chemicals in our food, water, medications and in our environment. Combine that with stress, lack of exercise, not enough water and poor sleep, our bodies don’t stand a chance and become a breeding ground for viruses and bacteria to thrive. Bacteria, such as streptococcus and viruses such as the Epstein Barr and shingles virus are the hidden cause behind so many of our health issues today. We simply have to be knowledgeable, take our health into our own hands and step up our game if we are to thrive, be healthy and completely free of disease.

Look around your world. The alternative is everywhere you look. Cancer, heart disease, diabetes, chronic pain and suffering…etc. It doesn’t have to be that way, not at all, but we have to educate ourselves and be willing to make the necessary changes. As Dr. Richard Schulze, one of my favorite natural doctors, always says, “Just STOP doing what you did that caused your dis-ease in the first place, and then START doing what will get you POWERFULLY HEALTHY, and the dis-ease will simply leave your body. Actually, it will LEAP OUT OF YOUR BODY because dis-ease cannot stand in the presence of HEALTH! HEALTH WINS!!!
